Aspect Quadra Flexo

Product Description:

MacDermid Autotype Inc. brings increased productivity options to flexo printers with the  Quadra-III XJ-540RF 50” digital prepress system. This turnkey system enables maximum ‘uptime’ and fast throughput of images up to 85lpi, and at speeds up to 80 square feet per hour.  The Quadra-III XJ-640RF is also available for imaging widths to 60”. Quadra film output systems are the economical way for flexo printers to digitally produce phototools for plate production with a very attractive ROI. Please note these products are only available for sale in the USA.

Digital Phototools Designed for Flexo Plates

Quadra Film and Quadra-K High Density Black Ink combine to produce the highest quality film positives and negatives that dry instantly to a waterproof finish and offer long archival life when stored properly.  Quadra Film is an optically clear, micorporous polyester-based film that has been specially designed for producing phototools for flexo and screen printers.  That means you can expect high density blacks, clear backgrounds and thermal stability for film-to-film registration accuracy.
The film’s special coating accepts the optimum ink volume, generating a black density range (DMax) of 3.5-4.0. The anti-static backcoating prevents static buildup and enhances traction for reliable registration.  The anti-static coating also improves image quality by preventing ink droplet deflection caused by static.
Quadra Film works especially well with Quadra-K Black Dye Ink , a MacDermid Autotype exclusive that enhances edge definition and dot quality to minimize film artifacts. Surface drying time is less than one second, and the film is totally waterproof.
Quadra Film is sold in 100-ft. rolls on 3” cores in 16.5”,  24”,  36”,  44”,  50”,  54”,  and 62” widths for optimum job planning.Quadra-K original formula, is a high-density black dye-based ink, formulated for the production of phototools.

  • High UV density (DMax 3.5-4.0) for the best image edge quality and minimal dot gain/loss
  • Minimizes short-term ink yellowing in heavy coverage halftone areas for safe film-takeup winding
  • Eliminates drying time issues, enabling film takeup winding, post-print shipping and immediate archiving.
  • Optimum viscosity for the best possible halftone-dot quality when used with Quadra Film.

Quadra-K2 is a medium-density (DMax 3.2-3.6), economical black dye-based ink for use in halftone or maximum coverage linework/spot color negatives.

  • Minimizes long-term ink yellowing for archival storage and re-use of negatives.  Produces a very fine dot for both stochastic and hybrid halftone screening methods

Key features:

Quadra III 540/640 RF

  • 50”/60” wide printers will output tiled or multiple-up images across the film width.  Film widths range from 16.5” to 60” for best economy and job fit.
  • Fast throughput of jobs ranging from 35 line to 85 line halftones; excellent for spot color and line work.
  • Output speeds of up to 80 ft2 /hr. are possible with Wasatch Quadra SoftRip, laser-quality precision rosette screening, Quadra film, and Quadra-K ink.
  • Quadra instant-dry film and Quadra-K high density black ink are perfectly paired to produce the dense images and clear backgrounds necessary for optimum phototool performance during exposure, enabling longer exposure times for improved plateimages.
  • Quadra film has a micro-matte finish for better vacuum drawdown and release with ready made digital plates.
  • An all-inclusive system with front end hardware and software, printer (Roland XJ-540/640 six-color piezo inkjet), media startup kit, installation and training, and full technical support.
