MacDermid Autotex Steel brings unique look to flexx-IPC
Date: 02/07/13
As a pioneer in membrane keyboard technology, Hoffmann + Krippner develop customised input devices and industrial PC panels to the highest standards of quality and design. For one of their core product ranges, flexx-IPC®, they wanted a surface finish that was something special.
flexx-IPC® panels must be robust and durable to withstand everyday use in harsh manufacturing and processing environments, such as industrial automation, food processing and automotive; and provide an attractive finish that gives distinctive aesthetic appeal.
To achieve this, Hoffmann & Krippner selected the uniquely tactile and attractive Autotex® Steel™ finish from MacDermid Autotype.
Autotex® Steel™ is designed for use as membrane keyboard overlays, fascia panels and industrial or display graphics, and can easily be embossed for use with tactile membrane switches, where the material has a flex life in excess of five million actuations.
“Autotex® Steel™ not only meets our quality requirements but also has provided us with a new and unique finish designed for a niche market,” said Thomas Krekeler, Head of Marketing, Hoffmann + Krippner. “We are extremely satisfied with the results that we have achieved and have received excellent feedback from customers around the world.”
