Safety Management
MacDermid Autotype has always maintained high standards of safety management over its storage and processing of chemicals for the manufacture of coated film and ancillary chemical products. The Company has been awarded the British Safety Council Safety Award on 11 occasions (the last time in 2007) and is typically operating at a safety performance level well above national standards for our type of industry. Our Safety Management system is extensively integrated with our Environmental and Quality Management Systems and follows the principles of BS8800 and HS(G) 65.
2005 was our best ever year, having achieved a 71% reduction in incidents since 2001, with no lost time accidents at all. Many reported incidents were minor, though each one of them was thoroughly investigated and remedial action was taken where necessary. Our aim is to achieve 0 accidents, demonstrating our total commitment towards the safest possible working environment.
The elimination of possible risks from ignition of the highly flammable liquids used in the manufacturing process has always been the principle of our safety management and the greatest levels of scrutiny are used in assessing potential risk factors.
